Flashed Porsche 996TT Puts Down a STRONG 417awhp and 480tq
We flashed a customers 996TT recently and had a chance to dyno the car today with some impressive numbers. To make sure all was safe and correct, we dynoed the car on a Mustang AWD dyno and logged the boost pressure with our Durametric tool. Doing a 3rd gear pull, the boost was spot on at 1.0bar through our datalogs. Generally a flashed 996TT makes about 410awhp and 415tq. For some ODD reason, this 996TT made 480ft/lbs of torque and 417awhp. So… Thought we would share the dyno, the Softronic Tuning experience, and the picture.
Car has Softronic ECU Flash, Agency Power DV’s, Silicone FHose, K&N Flat Panel.
Porsche 997.2 GT3 2010 ECU Flash Tuning
Porsche 997.2 2010 GT3 – $1295
Stock Power – 435HP and 316ft/lbs
Tuned Power – 455HP and 337ft/lbs
Softronic flashes the 997.2 3.8L GT3 through the OBDII port of the car. With their Flasher Client software, they are reading a full 1mb of the file to completely tune the ECU. Other companies claim to be able to do this, but are only read 128kb and making global changes. The ECU flash will alter your fuel and timing maps to give you a very linear increase over stock. For those worried about check engine lights, there are none! For those running a high flow cat or straight pipe exhaust systems, Softronic raises the O2 levels which will remove the possibility of having a CEL from this type of exhaust. Once the car is flashed, the low end torque and throttle response will be much improved. The mid-range of the RPM band will feel stronger as well. The overall improvement of drivability makes the 997.2 GT3 even more fun then it was originally. Since warranty is always a concern, Softronic also provides you with your original file. With this original file you can flash your car back to stock at any point. If you go to the dealer, there will be nothing visible through the Porsche PIWIS system. Softronic can program your vehicle no matter what country you are from or what octane you use. We have different maps for those running 91 octane or 93 octane and higher. We have tested this software in many competition venues with nothing but positive results.
What are the benefits/functions of going with Softronic compared to the competition?

After customer Mark G flashed his car in NY he emailed this, “I will say this so far… The power/pull is much more consistent from start to redline. Throttle is perfectedly sensitive and responsive.”

The 2009 and up Porsche Carrera is a big change over previous models. The new 911 has switched from a Bosch ECU to now running a Siemens SDI system. The transmission can be had in a standard 6 speed manual or the new PDK transmission to complete with the GTR, M3, and others. Softronic has spent time engineering and developing software for the new FSI cars and is one of the only tuners in the world that can offer an ECU flash via the OBDII port. With some additional programming to adjust the cars timing and air fuel mixtures, Softronic is able to gain performance on both the 3.6L and the 3.8L 911.

Porsche 997 Turbo OBDII ECU Flashing has Launched!
After months of testing, programming, and engineering, Softronic has become the first tuner to give customers the ability to flash their ECU in the Porsche 997 Turbo via the OBDII port. This release of the Version 3.0 software comes after 2 years of having to do it the old fashion way, bench flashing. With a change in technology, the new 997 Turbo was not able to be flashed like the older 996 Turbo via the OBDII port. However, Softronic has raised the bar and change all that with this release. This is a first in many ways for the Porsche Tuning community. The ECU Flash is total process of about 30 mins. Once completed, your car will gain nearly 60 horsepower and 55 ft/lbs of torque. All Softronic Tuning is based off the factory knock and oxygen sensors to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable power added. With this new OBDII ECU Flash capability, there is no downtime, altering the main ECU box, or inconsistencies from poor coding or tools. With 30 years of Porsche experience and the official data verification for Porsche Motorsports, you can assure that having your car tuned by Softronic will be the best!
This product is available for immediate purchase at $2795 including the FREE Client Cable. Get more information by visiting our Porsche 997 Turbo ECU Tuning Page Here.
Softronic does 3 things different that make the ability to tune your Porsche 997 Turbo efficiently and conveniently. First, Softronic uses a Client Cable that simply plugs into the OBDII port and then connects to your laptop. All of Softronic file transferring is done on a secure server that Softronic’s Flasher Client Software sends the files to and from with. This is necessary to maintain the security of your VIN and IMOB coded ECU and make sure that all files are for the proper vehicle. By using this method, there is no need to remove your ECU from the car, no need to have additional equipment to flash it, and no need to worry about dealer warranty.
Second, when you receive your tuned file specifically for your car, Softronic also sends you your true ORIGINAL file that can be flashed back to your ECU at anytime. This is exactly what it is, the original. Others have a “stock” file that can be loaded, but it is not your true original read out. Others “stock” file can be detected by the factory Porsche PIWIS diagnostic tool.
Lastly, Softronic is reading a full 1mb of the file to completely tune the ECU. Other companies claim to be able to do this, but are only read 128kb and making global changes. With this superior ability from Softronic, you can be sure that each individual lambda and timing table is tuned properly. You never had to worry about re-reflashing your car for basic things like race gas, exhaust, intake, etc.
With our Guarantee to our customers, the easiest Installation available, and Online Support, Softronic is the best answer for those 997 Turbo owners wanting more power from their vehicle.

Porsche 997 Turbo ECU Flash Tuning
Porsche 997 Turbo – $2195
Stock Power – 480HP and 457ft/lbs
Tuned Power – 555HP and 525ft/lbs
Softronic is now one of the only companies in the world that can do OBDII ecu flashing of the 997 Turbo. With their Flasher Client software, they are reading a full 1mb of the file to completely tune the ECU. Other companies claim to be able to do this, but are only read 128kb and making global changes. The ECU flash retains your factory SPORT mode function, but also increases your boost under normal use. For those worried about check engine lights, there are none! For those running a high flow cat exhaust system, Softronic raises the O2 levels which will remove the possibility of having a CEL from this type of exhaust. Once the car is flashed, the turbos will come on much quicker and the car will pull harder to the 500rpm increase of the redline. The overall improvement of drivability makes the 997 Turbo even more fun then it was originally.
Here is some data showing the Softronic ECU flash in action:
View 1st Dyno Sheet Here – The first dyno graph shows a comparison of what the Softronic ECU Flash added for power. The car was first tested with the stock ECU and exhaust then tested with the flash ECU and exhaust. The Softronic ECU Flash added 66HP and 54ft/lbs of torque. |
View 2nd Dyno Sheet Here – The 2nd dyno compares the Softronic Flash with an exhaust installed to the Stock 997TT. This was a gain of 104HP and 83ft/lbs of torque. Now this is a hard one to compare to other products and companies because of 2 variables. Exhaust brand and temperature. The 997TT is very finicky in sport mode with different exhausts. Most aftermarket exhausts are running 200cell cats. So you have to have the ECU flash done to turn off the CEL caused by the cat inefficiency code. This exhaust as tested uses 80mm piping and is much more free flowing then other systems, so it adds alot of power. |
View 3rd Dyno Sheet Here – The 3rd and final dyno compares the Softronic with and without Sport Mode turned on. Watching the boost gauge on the dash, in sport mode, the car held a constant 17psi to 6800rpm. Without sport mode, the car ran 15psi. These runs were done back to back. What was interesting is that without sport mode, the car made more peak at redline power. But if you look at the curve the initial boost from Sport Mode gave the car a TON more torque and mid range. It could be possible that the Sport Mode which caused the EGT to rise on a back to back run cut out at the high RPM. The inital torque and midrange is good as that is one thing you can TRULY feel. |
